My head hurts. Really. I tried to sleep off this headache, I tried to sleep it off, I took some pills (yay for Neurofen!) but it won't go away. I got it during my karate beach class today. Hmph. Okay! So karate beach class! I got there at like 7 50am...and it was fucking freezing. There was a delightful breeze that saw everyone shivering and trying to stay warm...so the sensei's figured we couldn't do the whole lesson on the beach - because cold!!!!

So we began on this grass oval thingy - RUNNING. THEY MADE US DO LAPS. Lauren does not run. Seriously. I ran one lap, and when they were like, "go again!" I was like, nuh uh. I am totally not running around this oval HUGE thing again. So I walked for a bit, then gave up. Then we did our stretches...but by this time the wind or salt air or whatever it was made my ears and throat reeeeeallly hurt (I whinge a lot.). So I was grumbling as I did techniques. Then we did some kata, and then some self defence stuff.

Then! We moved onto the beach - we all got into lines facing the ocean, and each sensei had a bit of a pool noodle and we had to all approach a sensei one at a time, and they would hit us at random places, then we had to block it, punch and kick 'em, run to the water, touch it, and get back in line. Running on SAND. We did this many times. Then it was if you could block the sensei's attack, you could attempt to shove them in the water. If you missed, they could shove you. *smug* I didn't miss. However, I did once, I think, 'cos the bottom of my uniform got wet AND IT WAS COLD AND UNCOMFORTABLE. And then we did the bow out - on the beach. Keep in mind, at this point about 90% of the class is wet head to toe, and the rest at least up to their knees. Bow out includes kneeling. So we were very sandy.

It was fun. But now my head hurts.

Grrr. Ferm this is all your fault! Because you got me all Robbie Williams-y, I spotted, during my hunt for Atlantis vids, a Robbie Williams one, but it was for the OC. So I'm like, okay, whatever. And DOWNLOADED IT. Now I want to watch The OC. BADBADBADBADBADBAD. Did I mention bad?

In other news----

I haven't been to karate for like 3 weeks due to exams and studying and so forth, so today I was like, yay, no exams, KARATE TIME! So I pitch up at 10 20am for my 10 30am class, and there are already people inside, LOTS OF PEOPLE, doing karate. I was like, what? What is going on? So of course, it was a seminar - 3 sets of classes focusing on different areas which everybody in our region of Perth rocks up too. They had almost finished their first class. So I'm like, riiiiiiiiight, and signed up for the next 2. Cute little geeky sensei guy talked to me:-) And this other man who goes to my Sunday class and turned up and was like, riiiiiiiiight. Haha. Silly us. Oh well. Next weekend is the beach class - 8am start time at Trigg beach. How exciting.

So, the first hour class was of self defence, which was good. The main Sensei guy is so cool and made it look so easy and swishy - IT WASNT AND JUST LOOKED LIKE PEOPLE FLAILING ARMS ABOUT. But fun!

The next class was one I normally don't go to because I dislike it - kumite. It's fighting. You get into pairs, and use karate against each other (at my level, not really hitting each other, but you still have to get in there and block and punch and kick) and I dislike it. So anyway. I figure, the only way I'm goign to get good at this hitting other people thing is to go along and practise and get advice. So the first round was against Claire - she's my level and goes to my class. It was cool. Then it was against this old lady I see every now and then. She is so cool - she's a green belt like me and is old and so cool! Then I sparred against a blue belt, who was nice, then, omg, then, I had to spar with a black belt lady (one of the early black belts though...so not as high up as Grand Master Black Belt Sensei Ken) and then, oooh, another lady who had the full black belt with the writing on it - that's an important level I think. She's like, you just attack me.

                  Laurem = DEAD.

I am so dead.

Also - next Sunday is BEACH CLASS. Yes, I know I've said it before.
